The Kuthengo Camp is located on a large open plain that extends towards the Shire River in Liwonde National Park, nestled between fever trees and baobabs. When fish eagles nest in these baobabs, you will be awakened by the "voice of Africa". Our four spacious and modern safari tents all have a private bathroom with a bathtub and an outdoor shower. In the hotter months, you can cool off in our plunge pool and enjoy the view from there.
With all the usual amenities of a safari camp, Kuthengo has a rustic charm, complemented by a breathtaking view, which is best enjoyed from your private deck with a cold drink in hand as you admire the herds of waterbuck roaming the camp grounds in the evening light.
The pristine Liwonde National Park promises the ultimate retreat where you can experience the many activities on offer in complete privacy; from adventurous game drives, breathtaking walking safaris or quiet boat trips on the great Shire River - there is something for everyone.
The beautiful, crystal clear Lake Malawi with its colorful underwater world is a wonderful place for snorkeling and swimming. There are numerous fantastic fishing villages on the shores of the lake.
This national park is a great mix of land & water activities with great animal sightings. In the park there are dry savannas as well as flood plains and forests.
During a hike along the tea plantations in the shadow of the Mulanje mountain, you can marvel at the magnificent panorama of the summit. On the way you will pass small waterfalls.
