LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATION

Not only the exquisite location is convincing. The lodge has eight luxurious suites. Each has its own heated plunge pool, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and large timber-framed windows that greet the breathtaking scenery and volcano views inside. Elements such as woven ceilings and hand-fired terracotta masonry made by local artisans underline the authentic East African appeal of this remarkable lodge.

SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

Kwitonda raises the bar for sustainable luxury ecotourism and celebrates Rwandan cuisine and fresh products from its own garden. The Akarabo Nursery is an essential part of Singitas to contribute to the long-term conservation of endangered mountain gorillas by enlarging their habitat through reforestation.

EXPERIENCE RWANDA

This tiny country in the heart of the continent is affectionately known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills" and offers a number of other attractions. Untouched forests, lush meadows, picturesque lakes and the lively streets of the capital Kigali contribute to the increasing demand for Rwanda on East African travel routes.

NYUNGWE
FOREST

The Nyungwe forest lies between Butare and Lake Kivu. It is one of the largest mountain forests in Africa. In addition to the evergreen forest, mountain rivers and waterfalls run through the area. Hundreds of tree and plant species make the forest unique. The highlight of the park are the 13 different species of monkeys that can be found here.

KARISIMBI
VOLCANO

The Karisimbi is a dormant volcano in the Virunga volcanic chain and the highest point in Rwanda. At 4507 m, the Karisimbi is the highest of the eight peaks in the mountain range that is part of the East African Rift Valley. The name Karisimbi probably comes from the word isimbi, which means “little white shell” in Kinyarwanda.
